The Department of Dentistry’s mission is to improve the oral and overall health of the community through education, research, and service based on: academic excellence; exceptional, compassionate, and innovative patient-centered care; research to advance knowledge and continually improve oral health; community collaboration, enrichment, and service; and leadership.

The Department combines research with clinical experience to provide an unparalleled educational experience. Students have access to the full teaching and research resources of Maharajah’s Institute of Medical Sciences.

As part of a public university, we will educate a progressive oral health workforce, develop community collaborations, and bring advances in science to address the pressing oral health needs of our state, the nation and the world. In order to accomplish our vision, we will promote diversity in thinking and human resources, support creative breakthroughs, and commit to ethical and responsible leadership in patient care, scholarship and research.
