The Department of Ophthalmology at Maharajah’s Institute of Medical Sciences is committed to the pursuit of excellence in all its missions. We believe that the success of our department depends on the quality of the clinical care we provide our patients, training outstanding future ophthalmologists and scientists, and developing new knowledge and innovative therapies for vision threatening diseases.
As a department one of our top priorities is the provision of thorough and compassionate patient care. Within our department you will find doctors who are interested in matching your concerns with accurate diagnoses and treatments. We seek not only to provide the right treatment, but also to educate you in regard to your condition so that you too may be involved in its management.
Our educational mission is broadly focused. Upon completion of the 3 year course of instruction our residents are able to enter comprehensive ophthalmic practice or pursue fellowship training.
The faculty of the department pride themselves on providing compassionate, skilled, and cutting-edge care to these patients; covering all the ophthalmic sub specialties. We serve a large referral base and patients travel long distances to benefit from the expertise provided by our ophthalmologists.
