Accommodation is provided for – Principal office, college council room, office superintendent’s room, Office and record room. The Dean Office’s is located in the First floor of the hospital building along with the administrative block. Adequate space (as per MSR guidelines by MCI) and other required facilities (as given in the table below) are provided to the administrative staff.

College Council comprising of the Head of departments as members and Principal/Dean as Chairperson is present. In absence of HOD being away on leave or for any other reasons, the next senior in the department will attend the meeting. The Council will meet at least 4 times in a year to draw up the details of curriculum and training programme, enforcement of discipline and other academic matters.

Maharajah’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Vizianagaram has Four Lecture theatres in college block with air conditioned, of gallery type in the Institution out of which Three with seating capacity for 240 students each & one with 330 students, and one Lecturer theater in the hospital with seating capacity of 240 students.. Lecture theatre are provided with necessary independent audio-visual aids including overhead projector, slide projector, LCD projector and a microphone. All the lecture theatres are been shared by all the departments in a programmed manner. There is a provision for E-class/ Virtual Class in Lecture halls facilities for teaching.

Our blood bank is responsible for the safe supply of blood for transfusion. In ad-dition to screening blood donors for infectious disease such as HIV, Malaria, VDRL and Hepatitis B has introduced routine testing for the lethal Hepatsis C vi-rus.
Blood Bank works round the clock to serve our patients to tackle any emergency. Apart from the routine blood donation, cross matching and coomb’s test, we also conduct blood grouping camps in other institutes & companies and maintain a voluntary blood donor database to help our patients. Recently we have upgraded our blood bank for component separation. RBC concentrate, Platelet concen-trate, Fresh Frozen Plasma and Cryoprecipitate are issued to the patients, De-pending on the indications.

There is a well-equipped Central laboratory working 24 X 7 with centralized collection for all investigations in histopathology, cytopathology, haematology, immunopathology, microbiology and biochemistry.
A full fledged clinical biochemistry and hematology labs are functioning in the basement floor of the OPD Block which caters the needs of patients of both inpatients and outpatients. MIMS Hospital is provided with an excellent Clinical Laboratory equipped with state of art automated equipments, qualified and trained staff working 24×7 service.
A part from the usual routine investigations we offer hormonal assays. Our other special investigations include electrophoresis, various organ function tests, drug assays, tumor markers and screening tests for metabolic diseases. Our vision is to bring out the best results that feature the state of cure of disease. The commitment to excellence is the foundation of our reputation and core of our success.
There shall be 6 laboratories (225 Sq.m.area each) which will be provided with continuous working tables. Every seat shall be provided with stainless steel wash basin. Every working table shall have drawer or steam proof top, and individual lighting. One preparation room each of 15 Sq.m. area shall be provided with all the laboratories. There shall be two laboratories of 90 Sq.m. area each.

Working round the clock. It is well equipped and updated intensive care unit (I.C.U) -15 beds, Intensive Coronary Care Unit (I.C.C.U.)-15 beds, Intensive Care Paediatric/Neonatal Unit -15 beds and preferably Intensive Care in Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases are available. A Central Hospital Pharmacy is also available. The following equipments are available in the Casualty – Oxygen & suction facility Pulseoximeter, Ambu bag, Disaster trolley, Emergency Drug Tray, Defibrillators, Ventilators and Mobile X ray units.
Maharajah’s Institute of Medical Sciences shall has one rural health training centre at Ramatherdham under Administrative control of Dean of the college for training of students in community oriented primary health care and rural based health education for the rural community attached to it. This health centre is be within a distance of 8 km. Separate residential arrangements for boys, girls and interns with mess facilities are available. Adequate transport (both for staff and students) available for carrying out field work and teaching and training activities by the department of Community Medicine.
Maharajah’s Institute of Medical Sciences has one Urban Health Training Center at Poolbagh. This Urban Health Training Center is owned by the college. Academic control is with the Dean of the college for training of students and interns in community oriented primary health care and rural based health education for the rural community attached to it. Adequate transport (both for staff and students) has been provided for carrying out field work and teaching and training activities by the department of Community Medicine.

The MIMS Central Library was established in 2003 when the College started functioning. Year after year it has made steady progress and has grown into a collection of 12,511 Medical Books & 20,200 bound volumes journals with subscription to 100 Indian periodicals & 54 foreign Periodicals yearly on various Medical subjects. There is also a Departmental library in each 21 Departments there are 4387 books available in this libraries. Both the central library and the Department libraries have in addition a digital library with internet facilities. The library is open from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm on all workings days.

The Pharmacy department is supported by Chief Pharmacist, Senior Pharmacist, Pharmacist (Registered), Pharmacy Assistant and Attender.
The Pharmacy staff will provide excellence in pharmaceutical care at a level of meeting the needs and expectation of our patient in such manner as to provide their health and well–being.
All drugs and surgical disposable are verified and received from the suppliers by the CMS and distributed to all the ambulatory care areas. Monthly Quality assur-ance checks of all drugs storage area in the hospital are performed including drugs dating, refrigeration storage and emergency drug supplies.
Our senior Pharmacist give counseling to patient providing medication infor-mation orally or in written form to the patient or representative on direction of use ,advise on side effects, precautions, storage, diet and life style modifications.
The Medical Record Department’s prime objective is the provision of patient Medical Records in a timely manner to the OPDs & wards in order to assist clinicians, allied health professionals and other hospital staff in the provision of quality care to patients.

The main reception desk is located at the main entrance. The patient who wishes to avail of the various services in MIMS Hospital has to get registered. This is a one-time event which gives you a permanent Hospital number. Registration and billing counters are present on the Ground floor near the OPDs.
Patient Billing Counter is located on the Ground floor, Opposite to the main Reception. The office accepts payment for hospital services in the form of cash only. The office is open Monday–Saturday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
If the Patient is in Pay Category, you will receive a hospital bill that covers all services you received during your stay at the time of discharge in MIMS Hospital.
Patients are admitted to the concerned ward on the advice of the treating doctor. The ward is designated by the inquiry staff at the admission desk and entered in the case sheet. The hospital is committed to making your stay as comfortable as possible. Kindly decide your choice of room and inform the Admission Department.
When patients are discharged from the respective wards the discharge paper is prepared in the ward and handed over to the patient. Discharge requests are processed round the clock.
In paying cases the discharge is handed over to the party of the patient at Hospital accounts after hospital dues are settled.
Intercom network between various sections in hospitals and college are provided for better services, coordination and patient care.
Centralized Telephone Exchange caters to Maharajah’s Institute of Medical Sciences. 500 line EPABX capacity telephone exchange installed in the department. The exchange functions round the clock.

The CSSD is to provide an efficient, economic, continuous and quality supply of sterilized material to various areas of the hospital to deliver quality and infection free patient care.
To provide all the departments with an adequate supply of reliable sterilized material for immediate and emergency use. The sterilization process is conducted under controlled conditions at minimum cost to reduce the incidence of hospital associated infections.
The hospital information systems are comprehensive, integrated information system designed to manage the medical, administrative, financial and legal aspects of a hospital and its service processing.

The EDP department ensures high uptime of the systems and for handing all database backups and restoration activities. Our engineers are also maintaining the hardware and network systems in the hospital & college. They undertake all trouble shooting activities and keep the system online and patient data available for our doctors and nurses. Our Training team personnel educates the end user and conducts the orientation programs periodically for our staff and students.

In MIMS the EDP Department provides high speed internet leased line connection of 500 Mbps for our staff and students. They can access J-Gate online journals, online e-books and other resources available at our Digital Library. The Digital lab is also supported by the National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST). This lab is monitored round the clock by the sonic wall security system.
The MIMS have Wi-Fi coverage across the campus for our staff and Students. The Meraki Wi-Fi will be broadcast on campus and visible in the Hospital, College, Quarters and Hostel campus SSID, and both will be carried by the campus 30mbps high-speed data network.
Our Biomedical department combines the expertise of engineering with medical needs for the progress of health care. It is more concerned with biological safety & regulatory issues than any other forms of engineering.

To give uninterruptible quality power supply with normal voltage and lowest electricity bill consumption.
We have a fire hydrant system (pipe lines which are kept under pressure always) is installed in multistoried buildings in the hospital. There are smoke detectors installed in multistoried buildings to indicate the fire is breaking out. Daily periodic maintenance, that checking of 3” valves, pump motor and water hose are done properly by through qualified fire staff.
The department provides all the units of the hospital with linens for the patients, which include (bed sheets, gowns, towels etc). It also provides white coats, operation uniforms and technicians’ uniforms with a high level of quality and neatness.
The hospital is equipped with a full-fledged state of the art laundry with washers, extractors and driers which ensures the supply of hygiene, quality linen to the patient.
The laundry department is divided into four sections which are; receiving bay, washing area, finishing area and storage.
