Curriculum Implementation Support Program
Curriculum reforms introduced by NMC for Indian medical Graduate are essential for training future doctors. Maharajah’s Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS), Nellimarla, Vizianagaram, well supported by appropriate Faculty Development Programme (FDP) to sensitize the faculty and oriented the changes incorporated in revised curriculum.
As part of the FDP, MEU of MIMS participated and conducted Faculty Development Programme through various Programmes including Curriculum implementation support Programs-I & II and also Advance Course in Medical Education.
The Curriculum implementation support programme was held by MEU of Maharajah’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Nellimarla, Vizianagaram and Regional Center (Visakhapatnam) from 29th to 31st May, 2019. This 3 days work shop to Sensitize Faculty about and Implement the New Curriculum from 2019 MBBS admissions.
Thirty faculty members attended as per guidelines. Dr. Dhanyasri from Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam attended as Observer.
Our Curriculum Committee Members were trained by Regional Centre, on 12th and 28th March, 2019.
- Revised Basic Course and AETCOM workshop was conducted in Maharajah’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Nellimarla, Vizianagaram from 9th to 12th July, 2019, attended by 29 Faculty Members.
- Curriculum implementation Support Programme CISP-ll workshop organized in Maharajah’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Nellimarla, Vizianagaram by MEU from 24th to 25th zo September, 2020, attended by 27 faculty members.
- Revised basic Course Workshop for Faculty and Tutors of Maharajah’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Nellimarla, Vizianagaram organized from 17th to 19th March, 2021 by MEU, attended by 30 members.
- 5 of our Faculty Members completed their advance course in medical Education and Supporting MEU:

- Sachidanda Moorthy N, ACME
- Bethiun S, ACME
- As Per the NMC guidelines we have constituted Curriculum Committee and 3 Sub Committees for Phase-I, Phase-II and Phase-Ill to recognize, review and monitor Competency based Curriculum needs.
- We have also constituted different Committees to plan & implement Foundation Course, Early Clinical Exposure, Alignment and Integration, Electives, AETCOM Module and Skills Modules.
- We have established “Skills Lab” with necessary Infrastructure and Equipment to Support Skills Modules as per NMC guideline. We have Trained Faculty, Residents and Nursing staff during Covid Pandmic.
- A Sensitization Workshop on “Curriculum Implementation Support Programme” and
CBME conducted on 4th January, 2023 for Senior Residents and Assistant Professors.
